Born in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, in the south of France, on December 21, 1503, Nostradamus was the "Latinized" name of Michel de Nostradame, who came from a Jewish family converted to Christianity. Being the oldest among his siblings, in the early years of his life he acquired knowledge in classical languages, astrology and occultism thanks to the teachings of his grandparents.
